Throughout the Byway
Steptoe Butte, which is off of Highway 195 north of colfax, is a quartzite butte that rises 3,618 into the sky and offers spec tacular panoramic views of the Palouse region.
Kamiak Butte, north of Pullman off of Highway 27, rises 3,641 feet and offers beautiful views, hiking trails and camping sites. Click here for a hiking brochure.
Bald Butte, south of Pullman off of Highway 195.
Tekoa Mountain, near Tekoa, is the highest point in the county.
Iris Test Garden, near St. John, includes 2,000 varieties of irises on 9 acres. It is open daily through bloom season, which runs mid-April through mid-June. For information, visit www.iristg.com.

Palouse Falls State Park, in the channeled scablands near Washtucna, has falls that cascade 198 feet into a round salt rock canyon.
